The program instructs how to communicate and behave assertively (self-representing) in situations at work and in private life. It does not offer superficial knowledge, but is rather built on a deeper 6 part assertive communication model, delineating the attributes of different ego-states and ways to handle partners. It helps especially in handling ‘games people play‘ efficiently.
THE METHOD OF ASSERTIVENESS is a style of persuasion which takes the partner’s objectives and ideas into consideration to a great extent. During communication, it provides an opportunity for the partner to voice his objections and disclose his interests. It helps communication become effective and authentic. Partnership and a win-win situation are established. Assertive communication is an indispensable means for creating a healthy work environment, and increasing work efficiency, since it helps prevent conflict and dissolves stress.
THE PROGRAM WILL NOT ONLY TEACH THE BASIC PRINCIPLES but it will also provide a deep insight through practical examples of the six part model of assertiveness. The course provides a platform to practice how to behave assertively, how to handle the aggressive or passive behavior of others, and how to recognize and resolve ‘games people play’.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to handle partners assertively in difficult situations as well; give and get feedbacks adequately; utter clear expectations in such a way that they seek partnership and a win-win relationship.
